Since the acquisition of 180 acres in Elk Township in 2018, staff have been hard at work planning access and trails. With the completion of the parking lot in 2024, the Preserve is now open to the public for enjoyment of this beautiful property. Current trails remain on the north side of the creek, but allow exploration of the Little Elk Creek, woodlands, and our converted natural meadow. Management and trail implementation south of the Creek will be a longer process, but we hope you have a chance to visit this unique property.
Parking lot construction funded by Chester County Preservation Partnership Program and the E. Kneale Dockstader Foundation. The Dockstader Foundation previously funded the cropfield conversion to its current native meadow that surrounds the parking lot.
