This very popular program is led by Jim Jordan, BRC’s Executive Director, Derek Stoner and others, and is offered in partnership with BRC, Delaware Nature Society and Natural Wildlife Federation. Students will learn the art and science of waterfowling, and the rich American heritage associated with waterfowling, and the critical role that hunters play in conservation. They will study wildlife management, habitat protection and conservation, and decoy carving, along with retriever training, shotgun shooting techniques and waterfowl calling. In addition, students will have the opportunity to obtain their hunter safety certification. This program meets at Ashland Nature Center in Hockessin, DE. Parent participation encouraged, by not required. (No additional charge for parents.) Programs offered are Basic and Advanced Young Waterfowlers. (Advanced for alumni of previous years.)
